The GMB Aim High Project was launched in April 2019 and has helped over 800 GMB London Region members to get access to accredited courses and other learning opportunities. We have also helped to support members facing redundancy to retrain and discover their full potential. We are proud of the work we have carried out in the London Region and as part of the wider National Union Learning Fund Project.
As announced in October 2020, the Conservative Government made the decision to close the funding for all Union Learning funded projects, which includes the GMB National Lifelong Learning Project. From 1st April 2021, Aim High will close and our project team will no longer be working on the Union Learn Project.
Our Aim High website is set to close on 15th March 2021 along with our email account. Our Social Media accounts will continue to operate until 29th March 2021.
Learning is still available to GMB members on the GMB National Website as part of our Universal Learning Offer at gmb.org.uk/learning and we encourage members to access this in future to look at GMB learning opportunities.
We would like to thank our learning providers Uxbridge College, The Skills Network, Heathrow Academy, WRANX, Learn My Way, National Numeracy Challenge, Bridgewater & Taunton College & TUC for working with us to provide life-changing learning to our members.
Thank you to our colleagues up and down the country at GMB Reachout/St Anthony Centre, GMB Yorkshire & North Derbyshire Project, GMB Wales & South West Project, GMB Birmingham & West Midlands Project & GMB Inspire2Learn (Midlands & East Coast) Project. A great bunch of people with a true passion for lifelong learning.
Finally thank you to our members and learners. You have made our project rewarding and we hope you continue on your learning journey through the GMB National Universal Learning Offers as part of your membership to GMB.
Your GMB Aim High Project Team
